I completed my B.A in psychology and MSc in mental health counselling in New York. Both these degrees have given me an in-depth knowledge of the brain’s neuroplasticity, processes, functions, chemical makeup as well as our behaviours and knowledge of various therapeutic techniques that I break down and deliver according to each individuals needs. I am experienced, confidential, empathetic and engaging. Since qualifying I have worked in a residential setting with patients experiencing mental health issues in New York, teens at risk in London, been a Clinical Director and Director of a counselling service in London, coauthored two papers published in scientific journals and have a private practice to help support individuals, couples and people with mental health issues
EMPOWER YOURSELF

the process. You are
not alone
WHO I AM
I’m Daniel Segal,
Mental health counsellor

All sessions are catered to the individual, there are no comparisons. Although facing reality can be hard, therapy is teamwork and you are not alone. I will be direct and challenge your thoughts if needed, which at times may be difficult. However, I would be doing you a disservice otherwise. I believe that facing our difficulties brings a brighter future and a better self. I aim for our sessions to give you hope, meaning, purpose, value, understanding, belief, confidence and self-sufficiency.
For the last 9 years I have been supporting people with chronic illnesses (many considered hidden such as Lyme, CFS and sensitivities). I have worked in 3 countries and have a successful international practice conducting online video consultations across Europe, America and the Middle East.

HOW I SUPPORT
The process
FREE INTRODUCTORY CONVERSATION
I do not set a time limit on how long the conversation is for various reasons including not making the person feel rushed or uncomfortable, but they average around 30mins. It allows patients to briefly outline their needs and ask me any questions about therapy and how I practice.
1.5 HOUR ASSESSMENT
During our initial consult we will cover lots of areas including mental health, physical health, diagnoses, symptoms, life events, family, social life, medications, thought processes and more.
INDIVIDUALIZED PLAN
After the first consult I will build a plan that is individualized to the person, their goals, needs, wants, and concerns, of course, often there are times we must find what those are. For me each person is an individual, there are no comparisons
TECHNIQUES
I include various techniques from different therapeutic methods in each individualised plan that uses your brain neuroplasticity and looks at your thought processes, behaviours, environment, family, social life and triggers to create change and reach goals. These techniques are broken down and delivered accordingly to the needs of every patient I see
TEAMWORK
Throughout, this is all teamwork. I help facilitate you getting a better understand of yourself the world around you. I educate therapeutic ideas and brain processes, I educate and can delve into thoughts, past, present, future and triggers. I educate on behaviours and patterns and then YOU as the other team player take that knowledge and you create lasting change whilst on the therapeutic journey.
EMPOWERMENT
I balance between giving you 100% support throughout your whole journey but getting you to a place where you stand on your own two feet using the techniques you just learned.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.

look at the FAQ section
What is the free introductory conversation?
It is a chance for you to ask questions and get to know who I am and what I do. it is also a chance for me to ask just a few questions on why you would like my support.
I have a mental health or chronic health issue, what if I cannot speak for 1 hour?
I fully understand and would not expect you to. Please let me know and we can come to an arrangement.
What are your fees?
£150 GBP for the initial assessment
£130 GBP per follow up session
How long are sessions?
The initial assessment is up to 1.5 hours
Follow up sessions are up to 1 hour
Do you give any discounts?
I do, I have a number of slots that are at a reduced fee so please enquire
What is your cancellation policy?
Ideally I would like 24 hours notice for cancellations but I am fair; I understand with mental health and chronic health issues things can change rapidly and you may need to cancel without much notice. however, if cancellation last minute (within a few hours) occurs too many times I may ask for full payment.
How do I pay?
You will receive my paypal link before sessions and you will be expected to pay just before or just after sessions
Can you be my therapist if I am not based near you?
Absolutely, most of my patients are not based near me and are even in different countries. I use skype and this has worked perfectly fine.
What happens if we are in different time zones?
No problem, my clients are often in different times zones to myself. This can always be worked out with some flexibility on both sides.
What if we do not speak the same language?
I have a number of translators that can be hired. This is a seperate arrangement and seperatly paid service that is arranged between yourself and the translator.
There are also a number of apps I use to translate as we speak in real time or via type in real time.
